TALKS
How do we want to live in 10 years? On future narratives & artefacts of tomorrow
Speakers: Judith Hufnagel (gravity), Rupert Hofmann (Foresight Academy),
Ian Ferguson (P/F)
We explore the new paradigms of our shared futures and
how they shape the world. Can we create more by making less?
We share some of the work of the Foresight Academy, the leading
cross-industry foresight collaborative consisting of global brands
such as adidas, Porsche, Infineon, Ferrero, and Audi, their creative
lead agency gravity, and design studio P/F.
Can we imagine visions of positive futures that help guide us in the
present? With an unprecedented rate of change in so many areas of
our lives, we ask: what is a world worth building?
The Designer, The Algorithm, The Crowd; Cooperative Intelligence and Evolutionary Design
Speakers: Carlo Ratti, Arturo Tedeschi, James Carnes
The long history of design was filled with iconic pieces by celebrated
creatives; then the open platforms unlocked the power of the crowd.
Now artificial intelligence threatens to erase both in a taupe hum of
generative design. Or does it? How might we imagine new loops between
the designer, the algorithm and the crowd, driven by advanced
manufacturing for a sustainable and personal built world?
Paraphernalia
Speaker: Sophie Van Noten
Vallverdù reimagines Ayurveda as a sensory journey,
infusing fabrics with herbal blends inspired by seasonal
themes. Their luxury blends Italian craftsmanship with
Indian spirituality, creating a captivating exploration
of scent, taste, and style.

WORKSHOPS
Change the story, change the world. A workshop on how we want to live in 10 years.
Katharina Reinhold (gravity), Kinsey Carlson (gravity),
Cary Siress (gravity), Ian Ferguson (P/F),
Rupert Hofmann (Foresight Academy)
Join our interactive session about the future, about value creation,
time horizons, beauty, and the way we define what we want.
We share key insights of the leading foresight collaborative,
the Foresight Academy, which conducts futures research together
with 16 global brands. These future narratives have been transformed
into speculative designs and artifacts, fostering innovative approaches
to creation.
Together with you we will explore new aesthetic paradigms in line
with the messy, emerging Polycosm that is our future reality.
Tecnosuolo
Technosoil is the soil of the future that uses textile fiber to improve soil fertility. This project combines the textile industry and agriculture, to create specific soils for different crops. Using a hybrid approach, combining hydroponic and traditional techniques, textile fibers are used as a substrate to germinate seeds and improve soil structure. This method promotes plant growth even in difficult conditions such as slopes or periods of drought, reducing water consumption and promoting the autonomy of crops.
New Building material
Building material made from local industrial waste, found in the Treviso area. The Material is made up of clayey silts extracted from abandoned quarries and furnaces and textile fibers reworked from unsold Benetton clothing items. Participants will have the opportunity to experiment with this material through the creation of architectural modular components that will be used to build a home or shelter.
