Villa Bagatti Valsecchi

The best way to reach Alcova is by public transport. Easy, fast, and green!

Travel to Varedo train station in just 25 minutes on lines S2 and S4 from Milano Cadorna, Porta Venezia, Repubblica, Garibaldi or Affori FN.
If you plan on coming by car, we recommend entering “via F. Rebuzzini, Varedo” into your navigator. You will find a car park there, next to Villa Bagatti Valsecchi. After your visit, you can proceed to Villa Borsani on foot.
Both villas are located within walking distance of the Varedo train station (5 minutes), and of each other (10 minutes). To avoid waiting at the level crossing that separates the two villas, we recommend reaching the locations on foot after parking. By walking, visitors will have the option to cross the train tracks via a footbridge equipped with elevators for accessibility.

Alcova is a platform for designers, companies, institutions and researchers investigating the future of living and making. Each year during the world's largest design event, Milan Design Week, Alcova brings together the people defining design culture today through groundbreaking work on living environments, products, systems, materials and technological innovation. Founded in 2018 by Valentina Ciuffi (Studio Vedèt) and Joseph Grima (Space Caviar), Alcova has become one of the most widely followed projects in the Fuorisalone, regularly attracting over 90.000 visitors.

The seventh edition of Alcova will be set in two of the most extraordinary villas of the Milan metropolitan area: Villa Borsani and Villa Bagatti Valsecchi. Villa Borsani, completed in 1945, is a Modernist architectural masterpiece by Osvaldo Borsani, noted for its lush gardens and distinctive elements like a Lucio Fontana fireplace, and serves as a center for the Archivio Osvaldo Borsani. Built for a noble Milanese family, who used it as a summer retreat to escape the heat of the city and to entertain guests and friends, Villa Bagatti Valsecchi is one the most significant examples of 19th-century villa architecture in the Lombardy region.
